Birthday Cheer

On this week's Papertrey Ink's Video Series with Shauna Todd, Shauna shows us how to create a birthday card using the fun set 'Pattern Party' to add some "WOW" to a card.  Our challenge is to create a birthday card with a "WOW" factor.

I created my own patterned paper using a gel plate, and used it for one of the flowers.  I also used PTI's 'Vineyard Impression Plate' to add some interest to the golden circle.  The gold leaves were cut from paper given to me by a friend who added the golden sheen to regular kraft paper (Thanks Vivian!).

Pretty in Purple

Papertrey Ink's "What Do I Do With This" challenge this week is to create a card using different mediums to add texture.  

I used a PTI dots stencil to add texture to the background panel using glitter paste. I then HAD to use my new "Into the Blooms: Roses Dies" - great set with lots of possibilities!  I also threw in a leaf from another beautiful set "Into the Blooms: Dahlia Dies".  I used my gel plate and distress oxide inks to add colour to the flowers and leaves, which were then splattered with purple and white inks.  I also added some sparkly Stickles to the flowers.

Large butterfly is from Papertrey Ink's "Life is Beautiful", sparkly butterfly is from Spellbinders "Wonderful Wings", and sentiment is from The Greetery's "Birthday Blooms".  I created the background using a gel plate and a stencil by The Crafter's Workshop called "Flower Frenzy".

Holiday Card Workshop Day 1 - Nighttime Lights

Merry Penguins

On this week's episode of PTI's Video Series with Shauna Todd, Shauna created a gorgeous Christmas card using the new set "Into the Blooms Dahlia".  Our challenge is to create our own Merry Christmas card.  I came up with this:

I recently purchased this super cute penguin set from Papertrey Ink called "Winter Penguin".  The stamp set and die bundle are currently on sale at a great price, so pick yours up before they are all gone!  The word "Merry" is cut from PTI's "Wonderful Words:  Holiday Die Collection", and "Christmas" is from PTI's "Polka Dot Parade #9".
